The Englewood Lodge holds free quarterly luncheons for all veterans as well as their spouses, significant others and or caregivers. These lunches are held on the third Friday of November, February, May and August. We invite all veteran to attend. Veterans from various assisted living homes in the area are brought to the Elks by van to attend the lunches. Many volunteers greet the Vets, prepare food, serve food and drink and just enjoy chatting with the Vets during these meals.
The Lodge has also donated television sets to the various homes for the veterans to enjoy programing of their choice.
Christmas time the Lodge has shoe boxes gifts wrapped and filled with various toiletries, reading and writing materials and goodies such as socks, candy and decorations. If you would like to be part of this program, please stop by the Elks club (mid October) and pick up a box or two and fill it with your gifts! Please return gift boxes by December 6. We distribute over 200 boxes annually to veterans in homes, assisted living and nursing homes, if it wasn’t for your kind donations many of whom would receive no other gifts at Christmas.
